If you've been following along with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt as they've been displaced from their home after losing it in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, the couple (Spencer, especially), has been encouraging people to stream Montag's 2010 album, Superficial. And it's been working.
Since the fires began and Speidi lost their house, fans and celebrities alike have been taking to social media to use Heidi's songs to help them get a boost in streams, in addition to song and album sales, to assist with efforts to be able to help them rebuild after losing everything. Celebrities who have helped boost streams include Paris Hilton, Emily Ratajkowski, Jessie James Decker, Flavor Flav and Jenny McCarthy.
According to DailyMail.com, Montag could "make as much as $1M at this pace."
In an emotional, teary video shared to her Instagram, Heidi thanked everyone for their support, giving her album the top spot on the charts. She said, "Everyone's love and support has been so unbelievable and so overwhelming, and such a light in the darkness for us. Thank you to everyone who's made a video, every single person who has streamed the song, bought the song. Thank you."
Heidi captioned the video, "Thank you so much to everyone who has bought and streamed my music! Thank you, thank you! Thank you for lifting us up in such a dark time. Being a light and a beacon of hope with all your support and love."
This comes on the heels of Spencer's emotional interview with TMZ as he broke down in tears as he explained the pressures of trying to provide for his family in the wake of their tremendous loss. He explained, "He explained, "Feeling at zero ... you know, I'm up til 4:00am every night now, just making TikToks, posting this, and it's like, I feel like, you know my heart is pounding so hard," before he trailed off and broke down in tears. He then added, "You just gotta stay positive."
Spencer and Heidi are just two out of many to lose their house in the devastating fires. Other celebrities who lost homes include Paris Hilton, Joshua Jackson, Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, James Woods, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Sandra Lee, Ricki Lake and more.
